Best Buy Foundation provides national and local community grants to nonprofit organization which help teens develop technology skills that will inspire future education and career choices. The foundation will donate up to $2 million dollars to community organizations that provide teens with places and opportunities to learn the technology skills.
Examples of programs to be funded: computer programming, robotics, digital imaging, music production, and gaming and mobile app development.
In order to be eligible for Best Buy grants, the organization must focus on providing direct services to build technology skills in teens (ages 13-18), must serve a diverse population, as well as must show positive results against demonstrated community need (a grantee report will be required).
Grants are generally awarded for one year. To re-apply, applicants must be invited based on program results.
Applicants must be 501c3 approved organizations and must be located within 50 miles of a Best Buy store.
Average grant amount is $5,000, maximum $10,000.
