Since 2011, The Home Depot Foundation granted over $80 million to nonprofit organizations improving veterans’ housing needs.
There are two main focus areas of the foundation’s charitable giving:
- Community Improvement. The Home Depot Foundation grants up to $5,000 to the U.S. 501c3 approved organizations which improve the physical health of their community by utilizing the power of volunteers. Grants are given in the form of The Home Depot gift cards for the purchase of tools, materials, or services;
- Assistance to Veterans and their Families. The Home Depot Foundation funds projects that use volunteer work on repairing homes or improving facilities for veterans, as well as projects that involve veterans volunteering to help other veterans in the same community. Grants range from $100,000 to $500,000.
Charities seeking grants from this Foundation must submit a grant proposal online only.
