Shell provides grants to 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations in the US. Organizations eligible for Shell grants support the local community, education and environment. Higher consideration is given to organizations serving communities where Shell has a major presence. Preferred focus areas are:
- Community – Focus on civic and human needs in the community, promoting healthy lifestyles, cultural arts and disaster relief efforts.
- Education – Focus on promoting energy awareness, increasing interest in technical careers among students, and professional development in science and math.
- Environment – Focus on programs that restore critical eco systems, address water and air quality research, preserve wetlands and sponsor wetlands initiatives.
To begin the application process, you must complete an eligibility quiz. If your request meets the required criteria, you can submit your application.
The application will include a brief description of the organization, including the purpose, how it meets Shell’s criteria and projected outcomes. Applications are generally reviewed within four to six weeks.
